SAN FRANCISCO, CA---- The Western Region of the National Black Law Students Association (“NBLSA”) invites you to participate in the 2006-2007 Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition (“TMMTC”) and Frederick Douglas Moot Court Competitions (FDMCC), to be held in February 15-18, 2007, President’s Day Weekend, in San Francisco, CA.

Renowned as the premier trial competition, TMMTC facilitates and promotes excellence in trial advocacy. The National TMMTC is sponsored by Dickstein, Shapiro, Morin, & Oshinsky LLP. As a competition competitor, you will have the occasion to interact with some of the finest student advocates in the nation.

Renowned as the premier oral advocacy competition, the FDMCC boosts Oral Advocacy, Research, and Writing Skills, helps develop and apply knowledge of Substantive Law and enhance employment opportunities through networking with legal colleagues and professionals. National FDMCC is sponsored by Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP

The Regional Convention and competition will be held February 14-17, 2007 in San Francisco, CA. The top two winners at the regional competition will compete in the national competition being held in Atlanta, GA in March 2007! This past year more than 400 law students had the opportunity to compete at the regional competitions and interact with attorneys and judges

NBLSA, the largest student-run organization in the United States, has over 200 chapters at law schools throughout the country. This represents nearly every ABA accredited law school, plus several non-accredited law schools. These chapters represent over 6,000 law students in six regions. The success of the National TMMTC and FDMCC depends in large part on the anticipated support of the legal community.

As a competitor, to register your team for the competition visit the Westlaw twen site: http://www.lawschool.westlaw.com/TWEN.
